An Update
Seeing as I've ignored you all since Long Weekend, I'll try to give you one of my quick bullet point updates:
- LOTS of work.
- I turned in my Common application! ah! Hitting SUBMIT was just a little nerve wrecking...
- Monthly grades today... best yet! yay! 38 total for those of you who know the IB grading scheme. That's out of 42.
- Working on my TOK presentation: it's basically a 40 minute presentation to your class that counts toward your IB. My topic is 'Is it ethical to contact isolated tribes in the Amazon?'
- I'm going to London on Wednesday for three days! It's going to be so nice... it's a subsidized trip by the college to give us a break. On Wednesday night I've been asked, along with only about 5 other students to give a small presentation and talk to some high class ex-students and other potential sponsors at the Royal Society. They're calling it a very 'swish' affair.
On Thursday night I'm going with nine other friends to see the musical Cabaret. Can't wait!
- Almost finished my Musical Investigation on the comparison of a Christian Hymn and a Taos Pueblo Round Dance Song. Interesting but time consuming... can't wait for it to be done.
- Finished my E-systems and Maths coursework... full marks! yay! that's some percentage of my IB out of the way...
- Have a VERY extensive Theatre Arts workshop all of next week. Every afternoon from 2-5. We're working with 2 professional companies called Earthform and Chorea to put on a final performance with them for the public Sunday after next.
- A bunch of my second years came back this last weekend including my dorm mate Rebecca. It was so nice to see them all again but it was wierd to have such a flashback of last year. It's hard to believe right now we'll ever be as close to our first years as we became to our second years... but I think we will in time.
Okay, I've gotta run to a meeting now... hope everyone is doing well at home! I come home in a month!!!! Can't Wait... I need a break; some green chili and sking and I'll soon be right as rain (or should I say snow).
Miss you all, Malia
