Where'd August Go?

Gees! I can't believe it's already the first of september! How can August period have gone so quickly!

Service Weekend in Bristol...

I've gotten so close to a lot of new people in my year and in eleven days our little period of seclusion will end... but only for a really exciting new beginning! Our first years arrive on Sept. 11th! Viv (my coyear dormmate from India) and I will be welcoming into our dorm (which will now be on the sunny side of the house... yay!) two new little firsties!

One of my first years is from Malaysia. She wears the hijab (headscarf) and seems very very nice. The other is a Brit from North England I think. She also seems wonderful in emails...

I've been so busy I'm tearing my hair out with exhaustion. Partially my own fault since I've been running a lot which makes me feel really healthy but does tire me out a lot. Today I finished my Extended Essay rough draft! A whopping 16 pages, 5, 400 word bit on Catholic and Pueblo religion... ah. the relief. Now I can at least forget about it for a week or so!... maybe.

Weather's been really good... can't complain there! Yesterday I woke up early and a couple of us ran to Llantwit, ate a really nice breakfast at Elaine's Tearoom and then ran back. What a good way to start a free day!

Arts Centre Service and the Coffee bar...

Last night an American coyear and I sat several people down and made them watch A Princess Bride which we find hilarious. But... I guess the American humour isn't for everyone! They had no idea why we were laughing half the time... ah well. I enjoyed it anyway.

Anyway... just chillen out on a Saturday afternoon... feel like I deserve a break from work after the marathon I typed for my EE this morning...

The Sabbath dinner at Interfaith conference... we are all wearing our national costumes (note the cowboy hat ;) )

xx. Love you all. xx.

Hi! Thanks for the update. I just dropped my "first year" off in Denver. I hope she'll find some interesting challenges, too. (I did not see a single cowboy hat there!) Luv ya!! -Elaine
