Music and Sickness

This week I've been bogged down with two things, one happy and one not so happy. Bad news first; I'm on my seventh day of being sick. A sore throat and cough have nearly completely taken my voice away so I've been reduced to a whisper which, here, means no voice. My life is made easier by a brand of sore throat medication called Lemsip and not made any easier by the medical clinic which just told me to sleep and drink water. Thanks a lot.
The happier craziness this week has been my participation in the planning of Music Focus Week. Focus Weeks happen every week with a different theme. Some past themes have been Fair Trade, Refugees, Asia, and Africa. This weeks schedule has been: Monday- Open Mic: Tuesday- Students' Concert (I played a piano piece for this): Wednesday- Staff Concert: Thursday- A local String Quartet: Friday- A lecture by a relatively famous conductor and more student performances. Everything's gone really really well so far even if it is pretty time consuming.
I've found that this blog takes ages to upload pictures and that is partly why there are so very few on my entries. However, one of my close friends Signe from Norway has a much better page with amazing pictures. Unfortunately much of her site is in Norwegian. If you can find your way around it though, you will find many really great pictures of the college, house bank, shared planet and other things. The link is

I hope that works. Let me know!!
Miss you all... I come home a month from today! Yay!

Can't speak, so frustrating,
Malia
