Second Term Begins....
Hello Everyone!!
With a mixed up combination of sighs, groans, new year's resolutions, welcomes, and greetings, our second term here at AC began. I arrived at the Heathrow Airport in London on the 10th at 11:00am after a long flight from Alb. to Denver to Chicago. Luckily, because of some flight troubles that made my whole journey two hours longer, I was upgraded to bussiness class! Better food, seats that lie flat, and leg room were much appreciated.
The very next day classes started. I'm definatly feeling the fact that it's the middle of the night at home right now. Jet lag is a pain but there's been so much excitement here with everyone returning I'm only now truly groaning about it.
What this term has in store for me:
-- In six weeks time I will head to Vienna, Austria for two weeks to sing with our chior at the UN headquarters. Ahh! Thats only 12 more practices!
-- All of us first years start a new mandatory class called the Theory of Knowledge which is basically philosophy. Unfortunatly it means we give up one of our free codes.
-- I've started an activity for this term that will try to put some backbone into the weekly National Evenings here. We'll see how it goes.
-- Lots and lots of rain.
-- Our North American National Evening is in about two weeks. I'm not sure yet what my southwestern contribution will be... maybe a line dance!
-- Less freetime and more work. But our second years have less work so maybe we'll all have a chance to get to know everyone better.
I'm sure there's more but you'll have to read about it as it comes. I hope everyone had an amazing Holiday. Mine was beautiful. I skied nearly 17 times, slept, ate, and enjoyed being at home. Maybe I'll have time to post some pictures soon. I miss you all already. Keep in touch!

Welcome home to your Home away from Home! Sure was great to see you and I REALLY appreciated the pictures. Zinc lozenges and MORE water for the cough. Best get it under control before the choir trip. Luv ya! -Elaine
Keep up the blogging so your injured friends have something to do. How are the Europeans treating you (as an American)? Are you grouped into a monolithic, homogeneous, right wing co-conspirator corner? Or do your foreign classmates allow you the depth and breadth of individuality that we as American so crave?
